Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician. Born on October 20, 1964, she is the 49th Vice-President of the United States. She is the first female vice president and is the highest-ranking female official in U.S history. A member of Democratic Party, she has been attorney general for California from 2011 until 2017, and as an United States senator representing California until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She began her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and later the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003, she was the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010, Harris was appointed Attorney General of California. She was reelected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who worked for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for undocumented migrants. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She is well-known for her direct questioning of Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
